David Deeks Biography
David Deeks
|
David Deeks is an active systems practitioner and author with almost thirty years in business and computer systems design and consultancy, and now a Reader in Computing Practice at the University of Sunderland.
He is widely regarded for his effective way of getting his message across to systems practitioners and students from a wide variety of backgrounds, and offers training and consultancy to large and small organisations - particularly in the Process Improvement for Strategic Objectives (PISO) method for business re-engineering. PISO courses amalgamate training in the method, with workshops and projects based upon the course delegates' own workplace.
PISO was initially born out of David's teaching background as an aid for business students learning systems analysis techniques, but has proven so successful as a practical approach to business improvement that it is now gaining strong support in a wide range of private and public sector organisations.
David is co-author of "An Introduction to Systems Analysis Techniques" (Addison-Wesley), the Second Edition of which contains the first published full description of the PISO method. His descriptions of the PISO method in "Visual Systems Journal" won him the Institution of Analysts and Programmers "Writer of the Year" award for 2001.
